“The Fault in Our Stars” by John Green centers Hazel Grace Lancaster and Augustus Waters. These two teens are both in a support group for cancer survivors and cancer patients. At the first meeting, the two essentially fall in love and the real story begins. Both of them are really intelligent and get along fairly well. They both like a book called An Imperial Infliction and Hazel Grace is ambitious to go to Amsterdam using Augustus’ make-a-wish wish. They meet the author of the book and are disappointed because he turns out to be a loser. The book concludes in a tragic way.
This book by John Green is my favorite of all. It is a type of love story that isn’t romanticized because they have cancer. It’s a real life love story, which like most, comes to an abrupt end. My favorite quote from this book is “I fell in love with you like I fall asleep, slowly and then all at once”. It’s an amazing quote to me because it’s cute, to be honest. When I first read this book, I thought, who would want to read about cancer kids, but once I got into it, it quickly became my favorite book.
I would recommend this book to anyone who likes a genuine story about two teens.
