This story was about a girl named Stephanie. She gets abducted and miraculously escapes from the cabin in which she was left. But to her horror she was left- yes! In a cabin in the middle of the woods.
She has to go through starvation which leads her to eat grubs and tree bark, and dehydration which also leads her to drink from a puddle of dirty water. She survives a sprained ankle and almost a bear attack. But I have to admit that the best part is the ending. It’s so twisted that I actually saw it coming in a way.
My favorite character in this story was the grandfather. He didn’t appear much in the story. In fact he’s dead, but before he died he had taught Stephanie how to survive in the wild. So in my opinion he was a major contributor to her survival.
I could relate to Stephanie in the way that her desperation to survive was so strong that she did everything and anything to survive.
I really enjoyed this book I couldn’t put it down for one second. I really enjoyed when she made that compass out of sticks I thought that was a very neat trick. I didn’t have a “nonfavorite” part because this book was very good. I really wouldn’t change anything about this book.
I would recommend this book to people who like suspense and a good twisted ending.
