Quince clash was about two girls, Fabi and Melodee, having a battle of quinceneara.
Whoever loses will have to shave their heads and be a slave to the winner. The main character, Fabi has a big problem since her family is having some trouble with money. Now how is she going to win the battle if she can’t even afford to throw a party? Good thing she has her sister and her friend Milo to help her out, the two that got her into the mess in the first place. They wrote to a reality show that grants quinceneara wishes. The show liked her story and wanted to do their next episode on her. Finally, she has a way to win the battle. She even met a cute guy that could turn into more than friends. But everything went from being like a dream to a disaster. She found out that her new friend is a traitor, that the only reason she got into the show is because her friend and her sister wrote a fake story and her dad was rushed to the hospital because he had a minor heart attack. Everything was crumbling in front of her. Melodee’s birthday was a blast; she was even humiliated in front of the guest. But she has her family to support her even her grandmothers cheering her up. At the end, everything was perfect, she got her dream party, a gorgeous chamberlain and her family around her, what else could she asked for.
Some parts of the book I can relate to, like how Fabi doesn’t ask or demand for a grand birthday party, I couldn’t care less if I celebrate it or not. I know we don’t have money to spare to celebrate such occasions. At some parts, I even felt like Melodee, because I can sometimes be mean and be a brat like her, I’m not proud of that, but it made me laugh that there is a book character that has the same attitude like me. I have never done anything the characters in the book experienced, except for staying in the library where it’s peaceful and quiet away from the people.
I didn’t like the book, I loved it! My friend thought it was cheesy but I think that’s what makes it super funny. The book is hilarious, every chapter made me smile or giggle that people around me thought I was weird. My favorite part was the beginning, even though I thought it was irrelevant I thought it was funny! If I had a least favorite part, it would be when Melodee humiliated Fabi in front of her guests, what kind of person does that. If I can change anything in the book it would be Daniel, I wouldn’t turn him into a traitor but I already knew what he’s going to do at the end, and if I change that part it wouldn’t be as interesting. If I could the ending, I would have to answer these questions; did Melodee have to shave her head? What happened to Daniel? And is it true what her grandmother told her about her chamberlain?
I recommend this book to everyone, readers who like to have a good laugh this is the book for you! There is also drama and a little bit of romance. Teenagers should read this book because it is just that wonderful!
