Eleanor & Park is about two teenagers who have a very original and unique love story. Eleanor is a new student who sticks out of the crowd in school, and Park is a student who tries his best to blend in and not be different. When these two meet it isn’t in the nicest way to meet someone on the bus, but the first encounter gives them a reason to be next to each other. These two run into obstacles trying to be friends because they both know that if they are friends many people will have things to say.
I can relate to both characters in little ways. I am very fond of music so I can relate to Park, and I tend to hide a part of myself from everyone else just as Eleanor does.
I truly liked this book because it had both the point of view of Eleanor & Park, so it gives the reader an insight of how they both are thinking about the situations. My favorite part of the book is when they are both kind of reading the comic books on the bus. I wish I could change the ending just a bit, but in a way no since it is the perfect way to end a first love.
I would recommend this book to anyone who enjoys reading about a love story with a twist.
