About the Library
The library at Thomas Jefferson TSTEM ECHS is dedicated to facilitating student learning and the campus curriculum. We aim to provide students with a supportive learning environment to meet their educational needs and seek to show students Web resources to assist them on their learning journeys. Further, the library intends to promote a love of reading, as this will ultimately create a strong and independent learner.
The library currently houses 8,839 print resources, along with 4,166 eBooks on our digital shelves. In addition, we currently subscribe to the EBSCO research database, Encyclopedia Britannica Online, Discovery Education, and BrainPOP.

About the Librarian
Miss Cantu graduated in 2006 from the University of Texas Pan American with a degree in English and a minor in Journalism. She then went on to earn a Master's in Library Science at Texas Woman's University in 2010.
This is Ms. Cantu's 7th year with PSJA ISD. She began as a high school English teacher, and this is now her 5th year as a librarian. She enjoys reading all kinds of books as well as surfing the Internet to find tools to make everyday life easier. Miss Cantu is a major news junky and likes to keep up-to-date with major events in the world. She is especially excited to be coaching UIL Current Events this year.
Ms. Cantu strongly believes in making learning resources manageable for everyone. Proper research strategies might be overwhelming at first, but as with everything else, practice makes perfect!
Be sure to ask Ms. Cantu for a great book recommendation, and feel free to ask her any questions regarding how to find information!
